INDIAN MALES SHOULD NOT BE APPREHENSIVE OF USING CONDOMS - THE COUPLE SHOULD EITHER USE MALE/FEMALE CONDOMS. FEMALE CONDOMS ARE VERY MUCH AVAILABLE IN INDIAN MARKET. CONDOM USE IS PATRIOTIC DUTY.
Quest For “Comfortable”, “User Friendly” Condoms Continues !

Acceptance study of Domestic Extra–pleasure Condoms (India-made) at our centre- Ongoing trial since Sept. 2006.

Encouraged with the favorable comments made by nine clients we have started a new study since 01.09.2006  with ‘MOODS RIBBED CONDOMS’ & ‘ MOODS SUPREME DOTTED CONDOMS’ (HLL) which are also extra-pleasure condoms.
These are being supplied by a local N.G.O (LIONS CLUB), Kishanganj, Bihar. We are planning to continue this study for at least one year to note satisfaction and rate of discontinuation (if there be any),  slippage, burst rate and rate of condom conception. All these will also be analyzed in the ongoing study and we are planning to include at least 300 couple.

1)Full choice among a variety of contraceptive offerings is yet to be attained in many countries. Its absence restricts personal access to each method as well as the use of all methods in the population.
2)The ability to choose satisfactory contraceptive protection depends on ready access to multiple methods. Thus a clear mandate exists for greater programmatic attention to the Provision of a full range of methods.
3)There is no particular best brand of condom. People often complaint that latex condoms are too tight and uncomfortable. Unfortunately condom use amongst (currently  married women age 15-49) was 2.4% in 92-93; 3.1% in 98-99. Surprisingly with rise of HIV/AIDS incidence of condom use is only 4.5% in W.B. (N.F.H.S – III, 2005-06).
4)Hence manufacturers have developed various new condoms with improved technology and quality control-so that newer latex condoms are more comfortable and pleasurable to both the partners.

4)       All the five couple of the present study expressed great satisfaction with the use of ‘ Super Dotted condoms’ (‘Rough & Tough’). One female partner however denied that she has any added pleasure over traditional condoms.
5)Admittedly, there are many limitations of this study and any favorable comment on extra pleasure condoms observed in this study must be made with caution. Besides the fact that study population was few, observation period was small & the selection of acceptors was limited to persons who have stopped using traditional condoms. Further only one particular brand of extra-pleasure condom was tried in our study.

5) So long condom  manufacturers  themselves were claiming that condomostic intercourse is more pleasurable with designer condoms than sex with traditional condoms or natural sex i.e. without condoms. They were also claiming that the additional pleasure is applicable to condom non-wearing partners too. Our small study now affirm their claim.

7)We know that compulsion of use of condom is less in marital sex than in clandestine sex. Central message of our study is positive. It challenges the widely held view that resistance to condom use within marriage is immutable.
8) Many methods of improving condom culture have been tried but none has been effective so far. Authors, like condom manufacturers now believe that liberal supply of such extra-pleasure condoms will go a long way to gear up condom use both in marital as well as in non-marital sex.

9) It is conceivable that wide spread publicity & use of Extra-pleasure Condoms (specially designer  condoms) will improve condom culture both in legal sex as well in immoral sex.
10) A plea is made to GOI / NGO’s- to supply ‘DOMESTIC EXTRA-PLEASURE CONDOMS’ instead of ‘ Traditional Condoms’   so that there is minimal discontinuation of condom use due to so called ‘tightness’, ‘bad odour & ‘less sensitivity’’ of condoms. This will also respect the womens’ sexual rights by adding more joy & fun of women in condomostic sex.
11)Condom use should be compared with patriotism.
