What advanced Tests for OAT (oligo-asthenozoospermia)-if husband report to tertiary ART centers?
1)            Morphology Disorders of sperms (98% abnormality)-Morphology, disorders are mostly limited to head defects 58% & mid-piece and neck defects of 32%.  Such advanced procedures are done at many centers of India e.g. at Manipal Ankur Andrology  & Reproductive Sciences Address: 98,9th Floor, HAL Airport Rd, Opp Leela Palace, Bangalore-560 017.  ARIC test: - Acrosome Reaction after Ionosphere Challenge,-Spermiation Defects-in this case=808%. Normally more than 15% of sperms with halos have diameter of 10 mille ---mm (µm).
1)                        Special Tests No.1:-What is the relevance of HOS (Hypsometric swelling test? - It relates to flagellar integrity: In this case there was > 55% sperms had tail coiling .Therefore motility disorders.
2)                       Special Tests No.2:- What is the relevance of Spermiation Defects? This is Acrosome Reaction after ionosphere Challenge:-This test evaluates the functional status of sperm.  Acrosome and Acrosome is a god indicator of sperms ability to penetrate the oocyte.
3)                       Other special Tests are: done only at advanced ART center (Andrology Deptt.) Such tests are DNA fragmentation, (DFI), ROS estimation, Annexin V binding, Acrosin Proteolytic Activity, Neutral a glucoside activity. Such tests are of limited value in day ART practice.
