Post coital tests

Any member has ever observed postcoital test to be done by his mentor/ any Lab person?? May observe if someone in your town does this very simple procedure: Post coital test, I won’t claim is very useful in infertility management but has some relevance even today . For instance, when a man declines to undergo routine semen analysis very firmly then one  can tactfully  have an rough idea of his  seminal parameters by channelizing  to PCT.   When  more than seven  motile sperms  are seen per high  power field  of microscope  , 10-12  hours  after intercourse it is an excellent PCT  according  to WHO  standards . In reality , what  information  we get from a normal  PCT are 1) Preovulatory  cervical  mucus  is normal &2) hopefully Sperm  count  is normal, at least not that poor. The added adv of PCT is that, I feel in that way ,  when the husband / woman   is allowed to peep through microscope “sperms moving  under  microscope  even after  12 hours  of intercourse”- it gives  them confidence   that both  the partners  are near normal ( coital factor, seminal parameters, & possibly oestogen content ) .Some form assurance will possibly normalize their endorphins and which may, but not always improve chance of conception. Showing PCT  in a microscope to the woman concerned (male if present) will boost up their level of mental  confidence ). The couples misconception is wiped off to  a great extent., The leave clinic with a smiling face.. Those men who refuse to undergo seminal analysis (routine tests) can be managed by asking the F partner to attend clinic 12 hrs after coitus at midcycle.  In fact if she fails an appointment due to family reasons, she  may  be informed that   sperms may remain alive  in Cx mucus for 48-72  hours. In  most of the patients  and in few they  have also been seen after seven  days. There is  a misconception  in majority  of the couples  that sexual   relations  must be kept when ovulation occurs
