WHO guidelines and normal fertile semen -How useful & fallacies.

WHO 2010 : “manuals for Lab examination of human semen were published in 1980, 1987, 1992,1999 and lastly in 2010, Members will be surprised to know that the total number of males studied(n) was only 1953!!! Will members believe this. That too menst were recruited for this widely used reference are only from 3 continents, , 8 courtiers and only 5 studies were taken into account to publish TTP(time two –to-pregancy) !!! Normal sperm manual data was retrieved from European males only and not a single S E males were taken into preparing Nomograms like 5, 50, 95 centile. Those who boast of so called foreign guideline, RCOG guidelines may kindly read an article   titled “Will the new WHO Standards for semen  examination change the “Clinical Management of male Subfertility” ? ( Name of Book is Understanding Male Infertility : Ed by  Dr Sonia Malik, Ashok Agarwal, (ECAB Clinical Update ):,Publishers: Elsevier
