UNICEF originally meant for emerency fund allocation of children in war affected coutries but now encompasses alos health women


Q. What does the acronym UNICEF stand? Where from a country  can receive  grants/ donations for Children's Emergency Fund.?  
 Ans to Q. 1:-:-UNICEF was established on 11 December 1946 by the United Nations to meet the emergency needs of children in post-war Europe and China. Its INITIAL  full name was the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. UNICEF is mandated by UN General Assembly to advocate for the protection of children's rights, to help meet their basic needs and reach their full potential. ... to form appropriate policies and deliver services for children and their families. UNICEF stands for United Nations Children Education Fund. It is a branch of the UNO headquartered in New York City which, as the name .UNICEF was created to help and support children in critical circumstances. Let's take a look at its story. UNICEF responds in emergencies to protect the rights of children.
  Q. 3:- Renaming of UNICEF to NICEF(not to be confused with NICE guidelines):-Re-branding  of UNICEF:--This name has been shortened by UNICEF to     NICEF : Though many of us , including text books of Paed  is still mention  as   UNICEF but current office designation as offered  by parent body (UN which has principal 6 branches) and there are  about 25 small sub branches   Therefore we must be familiar with  first renaming (re-brand ) of UNICEF and refrain from UNICEF. “Through this re-branding, the  goal is to convey, in a powerful and distinctive way, what UNICEF stands for, in everything NICEF  do, in every country NICEF  work, in a way that is relevant to our children & women.

NICEF provides services in primary health-care, nutrition, basic education, sanitation and women's development in developing countries.
