Who are more prone to develop OHSS even with mild stimulation

How many members enquire about allergy in those who are selected for gonadotrophins?? Ans: This issue stems in my mind because few researchers have noticed that those women who developed OHSS most of them have allergy to diff foods and or pollutants. Researchers hypothesized that differences in the immunologic sensitivity of patients are a predictor of OHSS. This hypotheses were  based on their observation that the pathophysiologic changes that occur in the ovary in response to OHSS closely resemble an overactive inflammatory response, with the participation of immunomodulatory cytokines. Therefore, those researchers warned that before starting controlled ovarian hyperstimulation, all women selected for Gn Inj better be enquired &  questioned about allergy as a sign of previous  hyper reactive immune system, and disposition to infection as a sign of hypo reactivity. The interesting observation of a significantly higher incidence of allergy in severe OHSS may indicate that general immunologic mechanisms may play a role in the development of an inflammatory response.
