 TSH is commonly test is done initially  for thyroid assessment -Why??

·    Why do we order TSH for assessing thyroid function for initial thyroid function?? Ans.-Because levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) are sensitive to excessive or deficient levels of circulating thyroid hormone, and because most disorders of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism are related to dysfunction of the thyroid gland, TSH levels are used to screen for these disorders.

·    Q.2: What is the commonest thyroid disorders of thyroid gland? Ans: The most common thyroid abnormalities in women, is autoimmune thyroid disorders, represent the combined effects of the multiple antibodies produced.

·    Q.3: What are the symptoms of severe primary hypothyroidism? Ans:   Severe primary hypothyroidism is associated with amenorrhea or anovulation.

·    Q.4:   What are the symptoms of severe hyperthyroidism?  Ans .  The classic triad of exophthalmos, goiter, and hyperthyroidism in Graves’s disease is associated with symptoms of hyperthyroidism.
