What is the
most notorious syndrome in women –which is difficult to 1) pickup early, 2) women
fail to change their lifestyle which causes air-strike at dining table(fat carbohydrate
restriction) and 3) eats away much time
from TV serial !! This time is diverted
to going to walk in lanes /Roof/Gyms for regular physical exercise
.
There is
hardly anytime left to a middle aged PCO woman to look after family members,
and supervising kitchen jobs ,not to speak of finding time for “chat with old boyfriends
who were close to your heart at College life.” Virtually there is no time!!!! Additionally selection of Food
items from market, frequently going to Medicine shop for purchasing drugs for lowering
cholesterol, visiting Diagnostic centers for 4 monthly Lab tests and visiting
Gynaecologits, Dieticians, Diabetic doctor, Hematologist and so mammy cheque
ups. Depression may set in!!!!! Family members support can go a long way and
that is exactly the need of the hour because out of 135 crores Indian population,
my presumption that 15-20 crores Indian girls and women are suffering from PCO
be it controlled or uncontrolled,
It is a notoriously heterogeneous syndrome which runs within families. It
has a high degree of heritability
and is currently looked upon as being a complex
genetic disorder.
Several
hundreds of candidate genes have been studied however the majority of these genetic variants have not been replicated in sufficiently large case
control studies .
